2005-09-06 - 2:04 a.m. - Choke, by Chuck Palahniuk
Reasonably workable beginning lapses into interminable, repetitive middle where all the stylistic tics that seemed clever on first introduction become schtick to the nth degree. Something like twenty pages before the end, the characters finally start doing new things again and it gets interesting, but the Big Thoughts and Shocking Twists don't have too much impact since the bulk of the book has sort of deadened you to this guy and his problems. Don't believe the hype!
